CEO Meeting: Understanding the IMACE & Policy Address
On 15 August 2025, the HKAPI hosted its 4th CEO Meeting of the 2024–2026 term, bringing together General Managers, CEOs, and Directors from 15 member companies.
We are honoured to welcome Professor Gilberto Leung, Convenor of the Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE), who joined the meeting to share the vision and plans of the newly established IMACE. Professor Leung introduced the background and key mission of IMACE, highlighting its role in strengthening clinical excellence and advancing healthcare practices in Hong Kong. He also engaged in a lively dialogue with HKAPI members, addressing questions on how the pharmaceutical industry can contribute to the development of local clinical guidelines, and how multi-stakeholder collaboration will be critical for building a sustainable healthcare system.
Following this insightful discussion, the HKAPI Board Members together with Senior Executive Ms. Sabrina Chan presented the Association’s policy recommendations for the upcoming Government Policy Address, while responding to members’ questions and feedback. Additionally, Ms. Linda Chan, Lead of the HKAPI Regulatory Affairs Working Group, provided members with important updates on the data exclusivity policy.
The meeting fostered meaningful exchange of ideas between industry leaders and stakeholders, further strengthening HKAPI’s role as a bridge between the pharmaceutical sector and the broader healthcare ecosystem.
